[timestamp system time hh:mm] talk ends --> [Conclusion here] _____________________________________________________ -------- Open Source Orgelbau netzhuffle -------- [12:53] The talk seems to be delayed, should have started 3min ago [12:53] Stream starts [12:53] herald introduces the speaker and talk [12:54] speaker starts the talk [12:54] Second slide was shown a few seconds to late (she talked about the image) [12:54] Aperture on Cam 1 seems to be open too wide (light highlights are almost white, very unnatural skin colors, speaker is almost blinding me while watching). Please watch out and call the A/V technician whenever it is that exteme. [12:55] Text for pipe names too small for supersource (= side-by-side with small image in lower right) [13:02] Cuts are generally well timed, speaker is shown often and slides when important [13:03] Heavy breathing from speaker into microphone all the time, very distracting [13:05] Speaker suddenly stands up for the second time. Cam 1 refames very fast, Cam 2 looked not ready for the second time. Better position Cam 2 for when she stands up, because that's the main moment when to cut on Cam 2. [13:08] Cut to Cam 2 again, headroom way too big. Improve communication. [13:09] Strange positioning of the table camera. [13:15] Cam 2 was framed well at the speaker switch, seems to have improved. [13:16] Slides way too small for supersouce when there is only small text in the middle of the slide. Should show slides full. [13:17] Cut to came 2 during supersource. I like the idea to create more variability through this, but the moment was bad because the other speaker just started drinking and this moved more than the current main speaker, which draws more attention on them. [13:19] Slides again too small for supersource. Please mind our big share of smartphone viewers. [13:22] Good decisions to cut to Cam 2 when speaker is doing something outside of the frame from Cam 1. Could sometimes be faster timed. [13:28] Supersource would be great for the video [13:29] Yay, thanks for doing the abovely mentioned supersource! [13:30] talk ends [13:31] Q&A starts [13:31] Audio issues in the first question after the question was asked (speaker was only heard through another microphone than their own) [13:32] Same audio iissues with the people asking the questions [13:33] Headroom too big on Cam 2 (eyes are in the horicontal middle, should be at about two third). I guess this is to be ready when the speakers stand up again but looks strange when they are only sitting in the lower half of the image. [13:34] Cuts between speakers and herald are well timed. [13:35] Awesome follows of the herald with Cam 1, beatifully framed all the times during their movements [13:42] Stream ends --> Cuts timing mostly good, but watch out for small text. Think about users watching the talk on their smartphones when deciding wether fonts are big enough for supersource or if it would be better to show them in full screen size. Great camera movements on Cam 1. Sad that framing compromises on Cam 2 where needed during Q&A because of the speaker sometimes suddenly standing up very fast. Overall a good mixed talk when watching on a big enough screen. I'll talk to VOC helpdesk because of Cam 1's brightness issues. _____________________________________________________ -------- Cat & Mouse: Evading the Censors in 2018 TheAssassin -------- [14:10] stream started (badly timed, speaker hasn't arrived (according to helpdesk), some person (not herald it seems) bridged the time [14:13] herald entered the stage, mic does not work, cam1 lost the herald, also too much headspace, tilting all the time, camera shaking; bridging time while speaker receives the mic, can hear some hand noises from that process on the stream [14:15] bad angles on both cam1 and cam2, way too much headspace for herald, also cam2 doesn't capture below knees [14:16] herald announces translations [14:17] herald introduces the speaker and talk, delayed 7 min [14:17] speaker starts the talk after some audio issues (mic was off), still way too much headspace [14:18] should avoid cam3 from now on [14:19] good idea to show introduction slides again using side-by-side preview [14:20] cam1 and cam2 too similar, but at least less headspace on cam1 [14:22] good to switch from side-by-side to fullscreen slides, tiny fonts are easier to read, should've considered doing a couple seconds earlier [14:23] speaker is quite nervous and generates quite some noise by hitting the microphone [14:26] too much headspace on speaker, way too much background, should zoom in (lower border was okay) [14:28] please go back to fullscreen slides, the content is very small (speaker's fault), and side-by-side doesn't help [14:29] switched from slides to cam1 too early [14:33] could go fullscreen cam1, we've seen the bullet points, but it's also reasonable to stay on side-by-side while the speaker is explaining the points [14:34] there we go, fullscreen cam1 +1 [14:37] switched a bit often between side-by-side/cam1 [14:40] cam3 not really appropriate here [14:45] slides -> cam1 -> slides -> ... works quite well from now on, nice to watch [14:49] cam1 angle not good, cuts off the cat, could just move down a little bit and we'd see the cat and would have better (read: less) headspace [14:56] speaker changed something about the slides, but we have no clue what happened o_O [14:58] ew, lots of camera shaking and adjusting (hectical zooming, panning, tilting, etc.), consider using cam3 as soon as you hear applause, and tell your cam angels when they can start adjusting [14:59] cam1 zoomed too much, too much headspace; a lot of shaking, did anyone hit the platform? (perhaps move chairs away from the platform) [15:01] can't hear signal angel on stream, only through speaker/herald mics -- didn't understand the question [15:01] herald picture on cam1 is quite good [15:05] cam2 picture is now way better, if we only could see the shoes... [15:09] do we really need cam3 here? cam1 and cam2 worked fine before, and we can see people leaving [15:11] herald ends the talk [15:12] talk ends in the middle of the sentence of the herald, we've seen some infobeamer, not ideal A bit too much side-by-side for my taste, especially annoying if there's tiny text on slides, should try to switch to fullscreen slides in those cases earlier, otherwise you don't get a chance to read the content. Also should consider staying on the slides longer at first instead of switching back later. Instead of side-by-side, PiP would've worked in may cases, too. The camera angles were quite suboptimal, please see above. Cam 1 should be more "closeup" (i.e., less headspace), cam2 should capture the entire speaker from shoes to head, without as much headspace, too. Q&A was the best phase, but I'd say the entire video was okay. _____________________________________________________ -------- [title of the talk] //see schedule in the other tab [nick of the observer angel] -------- [timestamp system time hh:mm] herald introduces the speaker and talk [timestamp system time hh:mm] speaker starts the talk [timestamp system time hh:mm] [$Suggestion for Improvement] ...
